Mastering the art of web design: - I left SEPA to study website design from home, and learn how to use the state of the art web design packages such as Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Dreamweaver. My aim was to learn cutting edge techniques for creating websites, then use these newfound skills to improve my web design portfolio. Once this was done, finding a job would be easy…

Visit the BaptistYouth website - which I still maintain
I became a volunteer youthworker at Stirling Baptist Church, and when the Youth were trying to work out a way that everyone could see the photo's they had recently got developed, I volunteered to build them a website! This website was created and launched during October 2000. I used Macromedia Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop to build this site which was launched on my 23rd Birthday (23rd December 2000)! MY NEW WEB DESIGN BUSINESS

What made me decide to open my own business? During February 2001, I met a guy called Colin Youngson. He had just started his own web design business, and he offered me the prospect of any additional work he received. As he would not be employing me, I needed to find out about becoming self employed, so I went to a Business Start-up Course in March 2001, and by the end of the course, I had decided that instead of just working for Colin, I would set up my own web design business, and I could do freelance work for him and anyone else! April 2001 was spent getting all my ideas together for the business, writing my business plan and seeking funding.

3 New Personal Websites

June-July 2001 was spent replacing my personal website with three websites:

  • Stevensworld - my personal website
  • JugglingWorld - part of my new business is devoted to teaching/performing juggling
  • WebDesignWorld (this website).

These 3 sites were launched on 16 July 2001 which is the same day that the web design and juggling business began.

I hope you have enjoyed reading all about how I became a web designer. I would suggest that you now look at my Clients/Portfolio to see my more recent websites.

I no longer accept new work, but am happy to point you in the right direction for your web design needs!

Alongside the freelance web design work, I am a professional juggler, and I run an online juggling equipment and novelty items store. These 2 ventures are my main source of income which is why I no longer do website design for new clients! It would be great if you could check out the websites below!
