WEBSITE #3: Personal Website assessment

In my 4th and final year, the computing lecturer gave me an assessment which was:

"to build a website on a topic of your choosing. The homepage must
have links to a further four pages, and feature at least two tables."

I decided that if I was going to have to devote lots of time to building a website, I might as well create my own personal website, which was launched during January 1999.

Global Information Systems (GIS) Assessment - I was taught about manyaspects of the Internet and website design over a 12 week period. This covered everything from the History of the Internet, to choosing a web host and marketing websites. For my assessment (which was worth 50% of the final grade), I was asked to act as a web design consultant for a business considering putting themselves online. I was to assume that the client had no prior knowledge of the Internet, so the talk would have to be pitched at a level for beginners. This project included having to prepare proposals and quotations for the client.

WEBSITE #4: Church of Scotland

I was about to sit my final year exams, when I received an e-mail from Rev Paul Beautyman - National Mission Co-ordinator for Church of Scotland. He asked if I would consider giving National Mission a presence on the Internet! I was very honoured to be given this task, and the site was launched in May 1999. I still maintain this site.
