WEBSITE #1: Small Enterprise Networks (SEN) Assessment

The best way to combine the computer and management disciplines which both featured dominantly on my course, was found in 1998 when my SEN lecturer issued an assessment which had to be submitted as a website (with hyperlinks between chapters)! Netscape 3 was by far the most popular browser back then (how times have changed!) so I used Netscape Navigator Gold to build the site.

My very first practice web page was created in order to gain some skills that I could use for the assessment:

WEBSITE #2: Juggling Business Website Assessment

One assessment in another class was to build a website to advertise our own choice of business. As I am also a professional juggler, I chose to build a fictional juggling shop. I built this site using Microsoft Frontpage. Ironically, the site I chose to model my website around later became my favourite wholesaler when I set up my online juggling equipment store!

Honours Project: When it came to choosing an Honours Project (17,000 word dissertation) for my 1998/1999 final year at University, I decided that I definitely wanted to spend the next year doing a website related topic. I eventually settled on the title "Applying Human-Computer Interaction Principles to Website Design". I earned a grade 4 (just short of a merit) for the project, and also a desire to study website design, complete with the knowledge of how to build websites with high levels of usability.
